Lib Dem MP David Ward has laid a ‘ten minute rule’ bill in Parliament, and this has passed its first reading and the next one will be next June. He is campaigning to save the use of cheques from becoming a thing of the past. Your Focus Teams supports this campaign as it is a very useful and convenient way of sending money to pay small businesses and charities.

I am one of the 3 million people who use Cheques every day. As we own most of the banks we should have a say on how they effect our life. Being a Pensioner I rely on this service and I strogly object to this stupid idea.
As a Business man I am appalled about the idea of not having the facility to use a cheque to pay for stock from my suppliers. I also receive a lot of cheques from customers and I do not have any problem with the period that I have to wait for the cheque to clear. We need to stand up to the banks and let them know that we are in a democratic society and as such should listen to the public.
